After years of use, the side frame of your conveyor will start to wear. As you know, this will result in various problems, stress on the drives and photo eye alignment issues. Currently, the typical plant manager has only one option for addressing these issues. If he does not want to replace the entire conveyor system, he replaces expensive conveyor components. Generally, these solutions do not correct the issue without eventually replacing the entire system.

After 20 years in the Material Handling industry, I have found that conveyor companies are in the business of selling new conveyor, not maintaining existing conveyors. Too many times the answer provided by a conveyor manufacturing is to replace a large section of the system, if not the entire system. One such problem is the wear of side frames which result in misaligned rollers, misaligned belt and or padded chain tracking, misaligned photo eyes, undo wear on drive units, as well as noise control issues.
